  • Tiredness

  • Irritability
  • Passive aggression
  • Clogged up
  • Disconnected
  • Checked-out
  • Depression

Cost Of Suppressed Anger: 

  • Toxicity in body and mind
  • Stagnation of energy
  • Takes a TON of energy to suppress

Myths That Give Anger A Bad Rap

  • Anger is bad
  • Anger is dangerous
  • Anger is not OK
  • You shouldn't feel anger
  • Anger causes you to lose control

Myths We Tell Ourselves To Support Suppressing Anger

If I keep it in (control it)

  • I wont hurt someone
  • I wont lose someone/something
  • I wont be vulnerable
  • I will protect my image of being together/a rock/ in control/nice

Getting Anger Moving

  • Blocked anger is worse (more damaging) than moving anger
  • Moving anger doesn't mean dumping it on someone. Consciously moving anger is healthier than unconscious outbursts
  • Anger is an emotion (energy in motion) ie it needs to move
  • Anger is pure energy; a pure power source and life force. Locking up anger is locking up your life force.

What To Do About It

  1. Acknowledge anger is there (at least ask the question!)
  2. Acknowledge it needs to move
  3. Decide the best way for you to do that (and do it!)
  4. Get support if you need it or it will help you

Great Ways To Move Anger Consciously

  • Punch pillows
  • Journal
  • Internal dialogue (you need to fully feel it)
  • General physical exercise (eg Dance)
